Weekly #10

LOTR themed builds, rubber glands, nostalgic 3D printer builds and more!

Weekly #10

I am 3 days late to the weekly post - thanks to Kali for reminding me! Here are the community updates from last week!

Builds

Need to buy the right sized bolts

Events

  • Anool has joined the Pittsburgh hackerspace HackPGH and is doing 4 workshops in November - check their calendar
  • Anool will also be at Hackaday SuperCon8, and will be doing a workshop

Discussions

  • Discussion on I2C and pull-ups
  • Alpha Folker is working on a cable gland relief - a good discussion on what exactly these are called
    • cable strain relief
    • rubber grommets with strain relief
    • ridges are called flanges

Since he's planning to print this in TPU, would be a good idea to pause-and-print so that you can put the cable inside - and don't have to friction fit it.

Photos

Another photo Anool took of Eric de Bruijn at the 2012 Open Hardware Summit showing off his 'robust' 3d printer
