Weekly #12

Opensource keypads, toilet paper holder, and a lot more this week at Makerville!

Weekly #12
  • I posted a link to Project IMU Array by Will Whang - a board designed to replace geophones used in seismometers
  • We mentioned earlier that Anool is going to be at Hackaday Supercon, and he's sending our way a bunch of links and photos
    • Shitty Add Ons - community-derived standard for adding little bits of electronic bling to conference badges. Definitely something that should be on the eventual badge we make for our Makerville Confs
    • Blinky Name Badge - part of the workshop Anool is doing at Supercon and PGH Hackerspace
    • cnlohr presented a talk on how to do radio on an ATTiny45 - slides

Builds

  • Vinayak posted a LED build that he did some time ago - just in time for Diwali
  • Milind printed a nice case for his Pinecil
  • Anool designed and printed Shaun the Sheep, toiled roll holder. Specially designed for uneven cardboard rolls - where he used 4 pieces of 1.75mm filament as springs - read more
  • Hemal used Blender to make a pretty tealight holder - he's posted the STL for the same on the group as well - see discussion

Classifieds

  • Kali is looking for electronics and DIY shops in Varanasi

Photos

  • Anool has posted a photo dump from Supercon here
  • I cleaned up my stash of dev boards and sorted them.
    • Tavish has a Pocket CHIP like me and has signed up for https://beepy.sqfmi.com/
    • Similar boards based on the Blackberry keyboard are also available from LILYGO

Memes

New Mac Mini has an inconveniently placed power button and some folks on the interwebs have come up with innovative 3D printable solutions already
